IFCA production worlds, blue riders kick hard !

Marianne Tertian is first woman, Antoine miss the first overall step for 0,3 pts , and AHD Takes 2 steps of the slalom podium .

Plenty of race and suspense for these 2003 IFCA worlds in Hyères.
Only the last races distributed the last tenths of points to share Kevin and Antoine for the first step of the overall podium and despite he was the most regular of the week, Antoine finished the event ranked in 2nd place, with an only 0,3 pts gap from Kevin.
During the slaloms, the chase to the Pritchard drove Antoine and Cyril closing the door taking the 2nd and 3rd places of the slalom podium with their AHD GT special 59 production boards.
Antoine : ÿ? Iÿ?m really happy as my 88 liters board was a bit small for my size when the wind was a bit weaker.But that was the game, we had to choose one board and two sails and I cannot complain as the GT 59 was very fast even with my weight and a 7.5 RS3 sail."
Cyril : ÿ? The GT 59 is my favourite slalom board and I was perfectly trimmed with my Simmer TP 6.6ÿ? . A perfect slalom event for me.ÿ?

On his side Marianne Tertian wasnÿ?t sleeping as she took the first place of the girls, sharing it with Lucy Horwood.
Marianne was using her AHD 95 N.T. formula board and an AHD Diamond slalom 58.
Well done for our super cool French school teacher from south of France.
ÿ?Pupils should give me more respect than ever now !ÿ?<br>
All in all, it was a very instructive week especially for the slalom event , where the winner shapes ( no boards shorter than 245cm and wider than 59cm on the three first steps) were far from the ones some expected with this race format .

Un finish incroyable avec des résultats tellement serrés quÿ?il a fallu attendre les toutes dernières manches pour départager Antoine et Kevin .Alors quÿ?il aura été le plus régulier au cours de cette semaine, Antoine devra laisser la première marche du podium pour 0,3 points .
Au cours des slalom et pendant la chasse au Pritchard, Antoine et Cyril sÿ?octroient deux des marches du podium en fermant définitivement la porte à leurs poursuivants.
Antoine : « je suis très content alors que ma planche de 88 litres était un peu petite pour moi lorsque le vent faiblissait. Mais cÿ?était le jeu, nous devions choisir une planche et deux voiles et je ne me plains pas car ma GT 59 reste tout de même une bombe même avec mon gabarit et une grande voile comme ma 7.5 RS3. »
Cyril : « LA GT 59 est ma board de slalom préferée. Jÿ?étais parfaitement reglé avec ma Simmer TP 6.6 . Un slalom parfait pour moi. »<br>

Du côté des filles, Marianne Tertian nÿ?a pas dormi puisquÿ?elle prend la première place féminine , première place partagée avec Lucy Horwood.
Marianne utilisait sa formula 95 N.T. et son AHD diamond slalom 58 .
Bien joué pour notre sympathique prof du sud de la France.
« Mes élèves nÿ?ont quÿ?à mieux se tenir ! »

Une semaine intéressante et instructive en tout cas, en particulier sur les slaloms au cours desquels les shapes gagnants (pas une planche de moins de 245cm de long de plus de 59 cm de large sur les trois premières marches du podium ) nÿ?ont pas du tout été ceux auxquels certains sÿ?attendaient avec un tel format de course .

Antoine did the job, Kauli unlucky

The last events of Sylt an Dranske gave the best to Antoine with one victory and one second place. Managing perfectly the various conditions of Sylt, Antoine did it, winning the race event with an impressive top end speed that made everybodyÿ?s speaking on the beach.

In Dranske, after a very slow start due to the lack of wind and many general recalls, a lot of the top riders found hard times and were ranked to unusual places.<br>
Antoine saved his neck and sailed ÿ?like an Egyptianÿ? managing perfectly the last races to take the second place then become Formula Windsurfing World Vice Champion.<br>
So all and all Antoine and his AHD formula 98 NT proved that theyÿ?re not only
the breeze beasts everybody was thinking about, but clearly the most dangerous racer of the moment. On his wave side Kauli was climbing certainly his eliminations rounds as he broke some rig stuff before and during a heat.<br>
With a too small board and underpowered with a 4.7 sail he had to leave in front of Bernd Flessner in a pretty light wind. ÿ?No luck for this time, Iÿ?ll be back and stronger ! ÿ?<br><br>


<p class="title">Le sans faute pour Antoine, pas de bol pour Kauli </p>
<p class="head">Les deux derniers événements de Sylt et de Dranske ont permis à Antoine de faire très fort en gérant au mieux les 10 manches de Formula courues dans des conditions très variées. Sa vitesse a une fois de plus marqué les esprits et fait douter plus dÿ?un rider, désesperés de pouvoir lÿ?approcher un jour.</p>
<p class="reg">Pas le même jambon à Dranske où la semaine a démarré dans des conditions très pénibles pour les nerfs pour cause de vent asmathiques et rappels généraux multiples .<br>
Une hécatombe pour les têtes de série et un classement chaotique dès les premiers jours.<br>
Dans ces conditions pénibles, Antoine réussit tout de même à naviguer à lÿ?égyptienne dans les dernières manches et à venir sÿ?installer « lÿ?air de rien » sur le podium pour le titre de vice champion du monde de Formula Windsurfing.<br>
Il prouve ainsi clairement avec son AHD formula 98 NT quÿ?il nÿ?est pas seulement un bête de brise mais bien le racer le plus complet du moment .
De son côté, en vagues, Kauli aura eu moins de chance puisquÿ?il cassera voile et mât coup sur coup avant et pendant un heat qui lÿ?aurait amené sur les plus hautes marches du podium.<br>
Finissant son heat énervé et sous toilé en 4.7 sur une board trop petite et dans un vent poussif , Kauli devra laisser passer Bernd Flessner.
« Pas de chance pour cette fois, mais je reviendrai et je ne suis pas content ÿ? »
