Type F 67 review , Wind mag ( FR ) march 2004
100% typical freeride!
Introduction
AHD was one of the first manufacturers to think about outstanding and versatile boards but also oriented to a maximum manoeuvrability.
So the Type F are the heirs of the freed diamonds, which opened the way to a whole generation of modern boards .
This 67 replaces the attitude inspiro 68 and got a shorter and more compact shapewith a thinner and narrower tail section for more top end speed.
We find again the Bouldoires signature with this so special bottom with air cushions ˙?Oups sorry, with numerous concaves.
The construction is Protec sandwich and offers a very good weight / volume ratio , we effectively weighed this Type F 67 at 8,2 kg for an announced volume of 116 liters .

Equipment
Select equips really properly all the AHDs, and this Type F 67 doesn˙?t get through as you˙?ll be able to choose your blade depth in the Ride range, pure freeride moulded profiles, all good ones.
Pads are covering a wide zone, that˙?s good but they˙?re too thin to bring an optimal comfort in chop and there˙?s no bumpers under the heels .
The finish is very good, be careful anyway with the non skid paint durability (medium quality on our test board ) and with the finish paint, very thin and a bit fragile .
Sailing
First ride is a usual on AHD freerides really quick, healthy, and without any difficulty.
Stable and very well balanced regarding the volume, there˙?s no particular advices to drive this Type F 67.
Light under the feet, it goes quick planing without asking much personal technique, the automatic pilot is on.
Furthermore, accelerations are high level ones, but always so easy that you might not feel it first view.
When you start to compete with the other boards, you realize effectively the competitiveness of the board .
Easy and smooth in all situations ( chop going very pleasant , concaves absorb the shocks) high speed control is a hit of this shape, that tolerance and stability are making one of the more versatile and performing in this group .
Manoeuvrability is good , railing is easy and stable when carving .
Conclusion
Very pleasant and always easy to drive, outstanding but never technical, smooth and manoeuvrable, the Type F 67 represents the versatility in all its magnificence.
Type F 64 review, Planche mag 03-04 2004
Sensations and performances guaranteed !
The shape
Brand new 2004 shape , the Type F 64 replaces the famous Free diamond .
Pretty well tapered with its pinched tail and its fluid lines, it gets a tighter scoop rocker line than its elder sister F 67. Always present , the concave-double concave- V that AHD cherishes.
About the equipment , as its sister F 67 this F 64 offers only on row of intermediate footstraps.
At least it˙?s easy to put on . We find again the 4 soft footstraps and a long pad that joins front straps to the back ones. A nice curved Select Ride fin 2004, longer than the competitors˙? ones , completes the stuff.
Furthermore, the Protec sandwich construction is a sandwich envelopped in a polymeric film that absorbs a part of the energy when impacts.
In the end , the weight is really well ranked.
Test team advice
Relatively easy to access with footstraps positions easy to find , the Type F 64 overtakes very early due to its light weight and its good response. From the very first meters, it roars under the feet to get quickly its cruising speed .
Right away we appreciate the reliable fulcrum on the fin and the pure gliding sensation that comes out in the same time .
We˙?re miles away from the governed behaviourof the elder Free Diamonds.
This board breath under the feet and is very reactive to the direction changes to help itself with the swell and forget all the traps which are raising in front of it .
As fast as the mistrals screamer in the lightest winds, the AHD is more limited in the maxis due to a rather precarious balance.
With its big fin, it comes quickly flighty and you need to master it.
Very pleasant to sail , like air cushion mounted , its goes through the chop with smoothness sailing on its tail part.
Another hit in that board, a very easy jibe attack with a super healthy curve.
The boards is railing well and we appreciate the thinness of the rail that allowes to turn without pushing like hell, keeping a good railing.
A real pleasure.
Furthermore, the relaunch is really active .
To be noted, do not hesitate to drop to a 36 cm fin in higher winds to manage the little board nose up disagreements.
Conclusion
Manoeuvrable under the foot, super comfortable and really fast, the Type F 64 is an excellent Freeride board.
To be recommended to full speed long runs, strong sensations and pure jibes lovers.
A really good shape .

Communiqué
Live from the paddock , an official announcement about the
Formula 955 NT .
Following our last team briefing, we established that the performances of our last formula 955 NT shape were not
sufficient to compete in the higher level of formula windsurfing,
using 12m2 sails .
Despite the great 2nd place of Antoine Albeau, Lake Garda europeans desmontrated it without any doubt .
With all our team driven by Antoine, we decided our top riders will use the 98NT with its top shape and AHD˙?s unique hollow NT technology for the 2004 season .
We˙?re already working on a brand new 2005 shape.
Thanks for understanding and rendez-vous in a few months for our brand new weapon presentation.
AHD Team
